The Viking Village is a one-of-a-kind destination in Hafnarfjörður — a living tribute to Iceland’s Norse heritage, complete with a themed hotel, restaurant, and lively entertainment.

Here, the emphasis is on the Viking Era, and as you enter, you step into the world of the past. The décor is in the Viking style, and we offer a true Viking feast with traditional meals served in old-fashioned Viking-style trays. During these famous feasts, there is never a dull moment, and guests can expect various treats and surprises offered by our singing Valkyries and Vikings. Fjörukráin comfortably seats 350 guests.

Sleep Like a viking at Viking hotel

Hotel Viking has 54 well furnished and luxurious rooms including shower, WC and television. The décor of the rooms on the first floor is Viking style and on the second floor it is a West Nordic theme. 


When you enter the Hotel, you are greeted with fine art and crafts from these three countries, Iceland, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. We have access to wireless Internet and free parking just outside the hotel. In our geothermal hot tub you can recuperate and freshen up and relax after a long day of excitement.

Our hotel expansion

In May 2026 constructions on an extension to Hotel Viking in Hafnarfjörður, Viking Village will be completed. There will be 54 new luxurious rooms with a luxurious suite along with other facilities such as new reception, bar, lounge areas and outdoor courtyard. The total number of rooms will go up to 108 when completed. The hotel is designed with modern comfort in mind combined with the distinctive character of the Viking Village.”
