The West Nordic Culture House is in an old forge, which has been renovated. It has a museum store and it serves the purpose of enhancing the cultural cooperation between the West Nordic countries; the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Iceland.

It also introduces the cultural inheritance of these countries. The culture house offers various operations, eg. the exhibition and selling of various kinds of handicraft and stalls introducing each country and its people.

Article from Allan A. Swenson

West Nordic Culture House Opens Doors To Millennium History of Inuits and Vikings
Around the world, Eskimo life and culture has been a mystery to most people. Little is known about Eskimos, including their proper name, Inuit. Translated, that means 'the People'. This year, much of that will change, thanks to the inspiration of an innovative Icelander, Johannes Vidar Bjarnason, and a Greenlander, Benedikte Thorsteinsson. From a meeting and discussions to explore mutual interests in their countries' shared Viking and Inuit histories, the Vestnorden Kulturhus concept was originated by Bjarnason. He envisions that Viking and Inuit history, culture and traditions be showcased for the world to better understand and appreciate. The West Nordic Culture House is in Hafnafjordur, Iceland.
