Storyteller Sigurbjorg Karlsdottir „Sibba“

 

Sigurbjörg  has worked as a professional storyteller since 2001. She has   participated in many storytelling festivals and seminars in iceland, Scandinavia, Polland and Ireland.

 

Repertoire:
Sigurbjörg  tells folktales, legends and myths, connected mainly but not exclusively with Iceland.

 

For over 10 years, Sibba has entertained, intrigued and inspired people of all ages with her large repertoire of traditional and contemporary stories.

Sibba started her own company 2001.   Offering  a storytelling walking tours - Hidden World Walks, in a town called Hafnarfjordur. On the tour she mostly tell stories of the hidden people, elfs and trolls that live in the rocks and hills.

Hotel Viking has 42 well furnished and luxurious rooms including shower, WC and television. The décor of the rooms on the first floor is Viking style and on the second floor it is a West Nordic theme. When you enter the Hotel, you are greeted with fine art and crafts from these three countries, Iceland, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. We have access to wireless Internet and free parking just outside the hotel. In our geothermal hot tub you can recuperate and freshen up and relax after a long day of excitement.

In June 2005 we opened 'The Cave' behind Hotel Viking. In and around it we have our Viking kidnapping as we have had for many years, now groups, that wish to have an adventure and a welcome drink the Viking way can have there mead in this mystical place full of good spirits from the alfs.

These hijackings are well organized and managed by our artists and the Viking warriors in magical surroundings fit for Vikings and guests.

At the same time you will be able to see some nice handwork from Iceland, Faroe Islands and Greenland.

The cave is about 220 square meters and fit for all sizes of groups from one and up.  As before there will be some singing, and buses will be stormed by our Viking warriors offering "Mead" to drink - Viking Beer.

Timewise, this takes around 20 minutes from when guests arrive until they leave for the bus again, that is to say, if they are not going for our Viking dinner at Fjorugardurinn.
